Welcome to Sea Cadet Recruit Training at Great Lakes, Illinois. Home of the United States Navy Recruit Training Command.

The Sea Cadet program is privileged to have offered this training at RTC Great Lakes since 1962.

 

As Commanding Officer of RTIL, I'm pleased to welcome you all to Team Family! 

 

This is the official website for Recruit Training, Illinois (RTIL) and is the primary source of information related to the ten-day training at Recruit Training Great Lakes. 

 

The information you find on this site will help you prepare for successful training. Preparation is key. Take the time to read all the materials on this site carefully. 

 

Questions regarding any of the information on Sea Cadet training should always be channelled through your home division's chain of command. This website serves to provide answers to some of the specific questions you may have.

We are committed to the safety, success, and growth of all hands, from the most junior cadet recruit, to our staff cadets, and including our junior officers and department heads. 

 

To instil the highest standards of Honor, Courage, and Commitment, here are the CO's Top 6 guiding principles. An easy way to memorize it is to remember the phrase "Successful Recruits Follow Really High Standards."
