RTIL MED

Are you looking for a unique training that combines learning with the practical application? It the answer is yes, this is the training for you!

RTIL MED is a training that runs alongside USNSCC Recruit Training (RTIL) Recruit Training Command (RTC), Great Lakes.  Cadets are required to be a minimum of a Third Class Petty Officer and have completed POLA. Cadets on this training are required to demonstrate the highest level of deckplate leadership throughout the training as an example to the cadet recruits that they will be exposed to.

The training for RTIL MED includes;

Set-up and management of a temporary sickbay.

*Set-up and management of a Welfare department.

*Recordkeeping of the highest standards, including the importance of HIPPA.

*Completion of Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).

*Administering first aid under the direction of the Training Team.

*Understanding the role of the Division Medical Yeoman.

*Supporting the Divisional Yeomen.

*Inventory completion.

* Familiarization and training regarding multiple medical devices and dressings along with their application.

* Provision of first aid coverage at USS Midway during the RTIL Graduation Ceremony.

*Accompanying the Cadet Recruits to; USS Indianapolis, USS Marlinspike, USS Chief and USS Missouri for their training evolutions. (There mayalso be opportunities to participate in these events).

Cadets who complete the training will be awarded;

  • A training credit towards promotion.

  • A caduceus appurtenance for their current year ribbon.

  • Basic Life Support/AED certification
